Foodie reviews
This is a belated “thank you” for sharing your gluten-free stuffing and gravy with us at Thanksgiving. Having just been diagnosed with gluten problems, your kindness was overwhelming – and the food was DELICIOUS! Thank you!
Thank you so much for the lovely wedding dinner. It could not have been better. My son and daughter-in-law loved it. Much thanks!
Urbanspoon "Local Foodie" Meredith B. April 23, 2010 Nourish nurtures the soul with powerful flavors in their prepared foods. Love the cheeses and Steve Koglers locally made bread too. Can't wait to use them for catering.
Urbanspoon "Great Experience with Nourish" Stan J. December 25, 2009 Whether stopping in to pick up some great cheeses or gourmet prepared dishes....or catering one of our parties, Nourish has been a pleasure to deal with. They have now catered two large parties for us and will be doing another over New Years weekend. The food has always been fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The menu provided us with everything from traditional to unique dishes. And the service has always been excellent with a staff of folks that are wonderful to deal with.
Delaware Today Magazine - Critics, Downstate 2009 Deberah Sutter and Lois Pellegrino, two local foodies with organic and natural goodies on their minds, took over the former Beautiful Foods, renamed it Nourish and began producing ready-made gourmet, on top of Beautiful Foods' usual inventory. "New owners, new attitude," Livingston says. "Let them stock your pantry and entertain your guests. Having a few friends for cocktails? Get all you need there. Having a cocktail party for 50? Let them cater. You won't be sorry." Sutter has kept the best of what Beautiful Foods offered, namely specialty and artisanal cheeses—French Camembert, as well as gorgonzola and mozzarella from Italy. But she’s also focused on small American producers. People can still find French cheese, but there’s also some from Washington, Iowa—even Delaware. With a full kitchen at her disposal, Sutter prepares ready-made salads like French lentil, quinoa and forbidden black rice, as well as dinners, sauces and dressings.
Treat Yourself - You can go gourmet even while eating healthy. By Matt Amis Delaware Today Magazine October 29, 2008 This caterer went mostly organic—for some very big names. When Martha Stewart, Bill Clinton and Clive Davis were trying to get into better shape and smaller jeans, Deberah Sutter prepared healthy meals. She’s hoping a little education and her all natural, gluten-free meals will have a similar impact on Delaware.
Sutter, a California native and former New York café owner, moved to Rehoboth Beach in September 2007. Working with local growers like Hattie Allen of Hattie’s Garden in Lewes, she assembles natural, ready-made meals for individuals and businesses. Just a few weeks into the job, she fixed up a feast for Drexel Davison, owner of the Bad Hair Day? salons. "Drexel likes crunchy things, so I made some amaranth, toasted nuts with fresh blueberries and maple syrup," she says. Also on the menu was granola with cooked oats, Caesar salad, vegetable curry with brown basmati rice and roasted rack of lamb.
